Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects:

May 2010 – Initial surgery; Aug 2010 – re-resectional surgery
Aug 2010 – Limb sparing surgery or limb-salvage surgery. Basically involves removal of soft tissue while also working to save the limb and not have to amputate. Alot of physical therapy after. Still experience pain and days are hard sometimes when my leg really is hurting.

Radiation or Proton Therapy Description, Dates & Side Effects:

5 weeks of radiation – feeling tired and extremely fatigued after the sessions were over, radiation burns on back on leg that developed into very painful blisters

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi everyone,

Wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I have not posted in awhile, but I do come here to this site and read the posts often. I continue to press on, like all of us. Next month will be another set of MRI/CT scans for me and then meet with the doctors for the results. Hard not to feel like I am living three-four months at a time until each visit and then I know that I am good for a little while again. Crazy huh!

Anyway, I am thankful for many things and have learned to appreciate life and thank God for all my blessings.

Hello All

Just wanted to check in and say hi. Things are going pretty good so far—- last checkup scans last month were all clean, thank God.
